Football, bloody football
Football, football, football
A new football season is underway and I am personally looking forward to seeing who (if anyone) can challenge (money bags) Chelsea.
Will it be (Malcolm Glaziers new toy) Manchester United (who only seem to be united in the fact, they fuckin hate Glazier, “slap it up ya”). Although it pains me to say it, the scum (Man. U) have one of the most exciting English players in years, that is when he’s not too busy “granny shagging” (allegedly) in Mr. Wayne Rooney. He is so good that I almost enjoy watching Manchester united (if it wasn’t for the fact that 90% of there fans seem to have footballs equivalent of a silver spoon in there gobs, I might actually like them).
And then there is Arsenal, stuck in there ways, with the potential to be world beaters (maybe they would if they could head the fuckin’ ball for Christ’s sake) but seemingly stale. They will miss the services of Patrick Vieira (and Roy Keane will miss his wee pal), but maybe a change is what they need, the jury is still out on them in my mind.
Oh and lets not forget the enigmatic (as in “what the fuck is He doing now?”) Jens Lehman, it’s not that he has no redeeming features, but it’s kind of like having John “you cannot be serious” McEnroe in goal at times. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him leave his goal line during an important match to inspect the centre circle just in case it is off centre or to inspect the grass to ensure it’s not more than a millimetre to long… blah blah blah…
And then there’s Liverpool, a team that can, on there day beat any team that you put in front of them (and then loose to Crewe Alexandra reserves). European champions with more silverware in their trophy cabinet than there are brain cells in Steven Hawkins head (he’s smart as fuck). Will they ever repeat the glory days of Dalgliesh, Keegan, Barnes and co. ?
Lets not forget Tottenham, they have the potential to emerge from the shadows and win at least 7 games a season (as an arsenal fan, I will not compliment them without first stating the fact that they are shit)… but seriously, they have some shrewd signings, Mido is the best Egyptian player I’ve ever seen (all be it the only Egyptian player I’ve ever seen) and a great manager in Dick Jol (strange that north London’s two biggest clubs have managers called “Dick” and “Arsene”, childish but funny).
Oh and I have to mention Newcastle united, “Wah tha fuck is Sounnes do’win to tha toon ?, howay wit’cha man”. I have a feeling Mr Sounnes could be one of the first managerial casualties of the season (What was wrong with poor Bobby Robson? who could ignore that eccentric and cuddly teddy bears charms).
I could go on but, I won’t
The point is, it’s gonna be interesting… for me anyway to see if money beats passion and good old fashioned gritty determination.
