Silent Protests

Over the last few days Northern Ireland has been reeling from the murders of two soldiers and a policeman at the hands of dissident IRA groups (the Real IRA and the Continuity IRA) the first since peace officially began after the Good Friday Agreement was signed. This marks a seemingly new and dark direction of Northern Irish history.

Silent protests have been organised and people across Northern Ireland are expected to attend a series of rallies to show their anger at the murders.

Silent protests are to be held in Belfast, Lisburn, Newry, Downpatrick and Derry, and a peace vigil will take place in Craigavon, close to the site where Constable Stephen Paul Carroll was shot dead on Monday.
