Post- modern? (hmmm, realy makes ya think)
What a great time to live in N, Ireland… Postal delivery workers on strike ( it all seems a bit out of control to me).
I have been waiting for several months to get my computer fixed and many motherboards later (and a power supply) I am now just waiting on a chip to arrive (should have been her weeks ago), but it seems that as someone in the Belfast postal service has been writing down car registration numbers.
“Well we can’t have that” a senior voice declares
“this is a most serious crime and most certainly a sackable offence”.
And so, as far as we know, the culprit is sacked and told then to go.
But in the rank and file, all is not well “we’re not takin’ this shit, lets give ‘em hell”.
So a feeling of revolution starts to swell, when they go back to work, no one does know. Someone said that this strike ain’t backed by the union, it’s easier to ignore than to understand this confusion.
So once again it’s the people that loose, the punters are shafted and no one gets there mail, resigned to frustration, again.
What is it about this place, it really is a disgrace
That once again we are caught in between, someone else’s rock and hard place.
I’ve lived here for over ten years now, and still can’t get used to the fact that when an irate group of people don’t get what they want (which could be a packet of sweets for all I care) they can bring chaos to the innocent bystanders around them.
This may sound like a good thing, people power and all that, but I don’t think so…
After years of killings, murders, families being intimidated out of there own homes due to fear of there lives and general sectarian hatred, the only time I have witnessed a show of strength (people coming together to publicly condemn the injustice) was after the Omagh bomb.
Northern Ireland isn’t a country, it isn’t a territory, it isn’t a state. It is a playground, controlled by bullies and petulant politicians.
This place contains some of the most wonderful and good hearted people in the world, but when the votes are counted, at the end of the day “IDIOTS RULE” all you can do is “get used to it” because “nothing will ever change” it’s just “the way it is”.
Great vibes, still it could be a lots worse… We could have George bush as leader, so I suppose we should be thankful for small mercies…
